decluttering recently unearthed some '80's music awesomeness.
i can't imagine my life without music.
i grew up with 5 older sisters who constantly played music in our room.
i remember being 6 years old and listening to Elton John and CCR.
i knew all the words to songs like "Cover of the Rolling Stone" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".
i also was quite scared by "Knight in White Satin"...that song still creeps me out.
today i can hear a song that i have not heard since i was a kid and i can remember every word.
the songs instantly take me back in time.
as a teenager i remember saving my money so i could go to the record store and buy the new Journey album or the "Micky" 45.
as you can see in the photo, i still have all of my 45's, most in great condition.
i also have all my albums minus the AC/DC album that my teenage son found and now listens to.
i love that...my kids love the same music i grew up listening to.
so just like my experience with my sisters' music, my kids grew up knowing all the words to my favorite songs.
i love music.
♥
i am right there with you.
ReplyDeletei heard an old elton john song
the other day and i about cried.
i was raised on elton john, doobie bros.
john denver. so many good ones. it is
what i turn to when i need some down time.
Love this, Tricia! I also had an older brother who got me into listening to music at a very young age. Rock n roll was still fairly new and my parents were pretty appalled at this turn of events. It wasn't just a passing fad, however, since we still love it!! 5 older sisters??? (isn't Judy younger than you??) Yikes!!
ReplyDeleteI still love 80s music. It always has a good beat.
